DESCRIPTION:Second Thursday of the month is when our In His Shoes Ministry serves dinner at Ascencia– Glendale’s shelter\, as a  part of our Homeless Outreach. It started about 14 years ago when we were at the Armenian Church Youth Ministry Center in Glendale\, when our crew would take food and clothing to the homeless on Skid Row in Downtown LA. Then we partnered with Ascencia as well as Family Promise\, and we have been filling bellies ever since.\n\n\n\n\nWe feel so very blessed to receive the beautiful gift of being able to serve our Ascencia family. Their smiles warm our hearts. We are thankful for our health\, families\, sponsors and those whose prayers make our homeless outreach possible.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you would like to sponsor a meal in memory or honor if a loved one\, please contact Anush Movsesian Avejic

At about the end of the 10th century\, the Divine Liturgy of the Armenian Church was formalized. \nThe language of worship is krapar (classical Armenian) with additional Greek and Hebrew words that have been retained from the early liturgies used by Armenians. Before St. Mesrob created the Armenian alphabet\, services were conducted in Greek and Syriac. \nHoly Communion is the purpose and reason Christians gather together to celebrate the mystery of Christ’s presence in the world. The service of the Divine Liturgy (Soorp Badarak)\, of which Holy Communion is part\, is the central action of the Christian community and binds us all together as followers of Christ’s way. DESCRIPTION:March 25\, 2023\, we will be gathering at the call of the Diocesan Primate\, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian\, for the Reclaim conference. This is the seventh annual Reclaim event and will once again take place at the St. Leon Ghevontyants Armenian Cathedral and Western Diocese headquarters in Burbank\, California. \nThe topic this year is: RECLAIM A Voice! \nSpeakers\, panels and a special screening of “Amerikatsi” with actor/director Michael Goorjian there to answer questions and comments. \n \nJesus Christ brought about a revolution that continues to stir the world today. By age 33 He was executed by the state. His was a voice that challenged the norms of the day. \nThe Armenian Church\, in the apostolic tradition\, is responsible for presenting the voice of Christ to the hurting world. This year’s Reclaim Conference will be about articulating a voice. \nTopics that are on the tables are: The Voice of Christ – love\, forgiveness\, sacrifice; The Voice of the Church – Armenian Christian identity; The Voice of a nation – Armenia\, Artsakh\, Diaspora; The Voice of the hurting; the Voice of the youth; and the Voice of the hurting. \nReclaim 2023 is open to all ages. Young adults\, deacons\, ACYO members\, Ladies members\, professional and anyone with an interest in the mission of the Church is invited to attend. DESCRIPTION:MARCH 2\, 2023 – IN HONOR OF WORLD HEARING DAY\, GALA FUNDRAISER AT THE LEGENDARY ALEXANDRIA BALLROOM \n@armeniahearingaidproject presents its unique charity gala called “Silent Film” an immersive experience set to old Hollywood. This black tie gala promises to be unforgettable. All proceeds benefit the Armenia Hearing Aid Project and future missions in Armenia. Let us give the gift of hearing- together. \nArmenia Hearing Aid Project will host a charity fundraising gala\, with an elegant cocktail hour followed by a formal dinner and program at the majestic Alexandria Ballroom\, in downtown Los Angeles. The event\, in honor of World Hearing Day\, will take place on Thursday\, March 2\, 2023. Cocktail hour begins at 7:00pm\, Dinner and Program begin at 8:00pm. The event venue is a historical landmark and a living gem from the Silent Film era. The site becomes the backdrop of the event – A black tie formal gala\, set in old Hollywood\, transporting the attendees to the world of “Silent Film.” An immersive dance show and clever program will provide the sensory of living in such quietude\, simulating the reality of living in silence. \nTickets are $250 per person\, and all donations are tax deductible. \nFr. The ministry will work in concert with the current Diocesan Media Department\, which boasts an extensive library of multimedia productions from the last two decades. Epostle.dot will become a hub for new outreach\, exploiting the potential of technology. The first broadcast under the epostle.net banner took place in the 2000 with the streaming of the Holy Badarak\, by Fr. Vazken Movsesian at the St. Gregory Church in Pasadena. The success of that stream laid the groundwork for podcasts\, vodcasts\, educational and artistic content and the latest Web 3.0 productions. \nThe entire Epostle.net experience will be launched on September 25\, 2022 following the Divine Liturgy at the St. Leon Ghevondyants Armenian Cathedral.
