Annual Toy Drive
Investing in the Heart of the Future
At its core, Epostle has always been devoted to the next generation. We understand a simple yet profound truth: the future of any society depends on the wellbeing of its children. Not only their physical health, but the nurturing of their hearts, minds, and emotional worlds.
When the fundamental needs of a human being are unmet, nutritional, emotional, mental, or spiritual, the individual suffers. And when individuals suffer, communities suffer. After all, society is nothing more than the collective expression of our individual lives. What we tend within ourselves is what ultimately shapes the world around us.
This understanding transcends borders, cultures, and beliefs. While Epostle’s outreach extends to communities around the globe, our work always begins at home, within our own hearts, within our immediate communities, and among those who are most vulnerable: children, the homeless, and those living in the shadows of hardship and trauma.
For this reason, Epostle places special attention on initiatives that are often overlooked or left unspoken. In many cultures, painful realities such as domestic violence or developmental disabilities remain taboo, resulting in entire groups of people being underserved or unseen. This is one reason Epostle has partnered with projects like the Arev Down Syndrome Home in Yerevan, to bring light, dignity, and care to those whose needs may otherwise be hidden by silence.
Epostle exists to illuminate all corners where love, compassion, and service are needed. While this mission may sound obvious, it is precisely because it is so often overlooked that we step forward. This is our greater vision: not simply to respond to suffering, but to be part of sustainable solutions, an investment in ourselves, our communities, and the future of life on this planet.
It Always Starts at Home
One of the most tangible expressions of this philosophy is The Annual Christmas Toy Drive, sponsored by In His Shoes, an outreach program of Epostle. Now in its 19th year, the Toy Drive is dedicated to bringing moments of joy to children living in households affected by domestic violence.
To place a toy into the hands of a child may seem like a small gesture in a busy world. Yet that simple act can spark something profound, a smile, a sense of being seen, a moment of happiness that words cannot fully describe. For a child living in fear or uncertainty, that moment can become a lasting memory, a reminder that love exists, and that they matter.
Sometimes, what appears small carries immeasurable weight. A single act of thoughtful, heart-centered giving can become a turning point in a child’s life, creating a ripple effect we may never fully see. Perhaps one day, that child grows into an adult who offers the same kindness to others, continuing the cycle of compassion. This is the way Epostle thinks and acts. Our work is not only about healing today, it is about planting seeds for tomorrow.
This Year’s Toy Drive
The Annual Toy Drive, sponsored by In His Shoes and Epostle.net, once again successfully collected and distributed toys to children affected by domestic violence. Members of our team delivered the gifts to Santa’s Workshop at the Family Services Agency in Burbank, where they were received with gratitude and joy.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and generosity to this year’s drive. Your participation made a real difference.
This initiative is held in memory of Yvette Hakopian, who was brutally murdered as the final chapter in a tragic cycle of domestic violence. Each toy given is not only a gift of joy, but a quiet act of remembrance, and a declaration that love will have the final word.
As Jesus reminds us:
*“When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay. (Luke 14)
