Welcome
This space is part of the faith-beyond-borders vision of Epostle.net, to find harmony with the Ararat spirit in the digital age.
The Cathia Hamparian Children’s Memorial is a virtual monument to a spirit that cannot die. It is a reflection in the metaverse to the lives that have brought us faith, hope and love.
Take some time to walk around the center piece – a virtual model of the Ghazanchetsots Cathedral in Artsakh. Tragically, the actual church was taken after 120,000+ Armenians were brutally assaulted and exiled from their historic homeland. Today, the domes are down and the structure is converted into a shrine for Islam.
Across from the church are the portraits of children who are no longer with us physically, but their memories can never be forgotten. Draw your own parallels between the downed-church and the children in this space. We cannot forget the life they gave to us. They are stars that shine light to illuminate our paths.
This memorial opened on December 10, 2023 as a continuation of an annual tradition of honoring children who have died. In 1997 the first memorial was held in memory of Cathia Hamparian. The In His Shoes ministry has continued the hold gathering on the second Sunday of December, a date designated as Children’s Memorial by President’s Bill Clinton’s proclamation in 1997. Now, this monument will be open for people to find comfort and hope, 24/7/365.
