Badarak In 40 Days
Part of The Lenten Journey series, Discover the larger themes that unite the words, music and rituals of the Divine Liturgy or Badarak as we call it in Armenian
A 40 day walk through the Divine Liturgy, or “Holy Badarak,” which means the Holy Sacrifice. Each Badarak is a reenactment of the incarnation message that Christ is in our midst. It is the oldest act of the Christian Church and is the central act of the Armenian Church.
Following the Divine Liturgy is difficult. The language (Classical Armenian) of the Liturgy is not understandable, it requires following books or screens on a projected slide. Here is a different approach. With this series each of the 40 days offers a journey of thoughts and prayers to understand the concept of the Badarak, as opposed to word-for-word.
This series, produced by Suzie Shatarevyan, was originally recorded as a Lenten Journey podcast.
